Wayland
Options with ABA
Grade: 10th
How long have you been enrolled in Options with ABA?
I’ve been here since 8th grade, or 2 ½ years.
Do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I dabble in coding. I consider myself a gamer, I’m not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I like naps. Technology is my field.
What is your favorite thing about attending Options with ABA?
I like how humble it is. It’s smaller and less crowded. It’s a bit less noisy. I met my current friend group here. Teachers here are understanding.
What is your favorite subject in school?
Math because numbers. Numbers are just numbers. Words lead into the dread of society. But numbers mean everything at face value. They leave nothing to interpretation.
Have you improved in any areas since enrolling at Options?
I have improved in social cues. I am a bit less reclusive now. I feel generally more emotionally intelligent. I don’t get worked up anymore and have calmed when things don’t go as planned. I can accept it.
Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
The truth is I have not planned very far ahead, but I would probably want to go into a field that has something to do with computers or IT.
Mya

What is your hometown?
I grew up in Elkhart, Indiana, but I previously moved to Indianapolis
When did you begin attending Options?
August 2022
Away from school, do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
My hobbies include driving and spending time with my biological family. I am passionate about spreading awareness to sexual assault.
What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
My favorite thing about going to Options is that you get to complete your schoolwork at your own pace.
What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school is history because I like learning about the past and why things are the way they are in the present.
Have you improved in any areas since you first started attending Options?
I have improved at being more self-motivated and disciplined since enrolling at Options.
Do you have any current plans or aspirations for when you’re older, or after you graduate?
I currently plan to increase my hours at work and save up enough money to move back to my hometown!
Jadelynn
Options Indiana Middle School
Grade: 8th
When did you begin attending Options?
I enrolled in October 2021
Away from school, do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I like to take care of our animals and read.
Do you have a favorite Options teacher or staff member?
My favorites are Mrs. Kiersten and Mrs. Stacy. Mrs. Kiersten was the one that was there for me the most throughout my time. She is also really kind and understanding. Mrs. Stacy is really kind and will keep trying to help you through your problems. She also never gives up trying to get closer to her students.
What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
I like how it’s fast and easy. It does not waste any free time.
What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject is English because it involves reading and writing. I am good at both.
Have you improved in any areas since you first started attending Options?
I have improved on using my time more wisely in each subject.
Do you have any current plans or aspirations for when you’re older, or after you graduate?
I do. I wanted to be someone that travels but it’s kind of hard to find a job that I am interested in, so I took a job personality test and one of the answers was a Flight Attendant. So that’s what I am heading for.
Javon

Do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I like making music and playing the game.
What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
The teachers, they’re very helpful and I can tell they genuinely care about their students and want them to succeed in life!
What is your favorite subject in school?
English because it’s always been the easiest to me.
Do you have a favorite Options Indiana teacher or staff member?
I like all my teachers, counselor, and principal, but Betsy has been my Advisor since my enrollment in 2019! We communicate well together and she’s patient and kind!
Have you improved in any areas since starting at Options?
I feel like my patience has improved since I started, and I have learned that it is better to take your time on things. Also, Options’ flexibility has allowed me to become more focused!
Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
I really want to pursue my dream in music.
Hannah

Grade: 11th
When did you begin attending Options?
August 2022
Away from school, do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I am an outdoorsy person, so I enjoy hunting, ATV riding, and dirt bike riding. I also love making music and gaming.
What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
I would say the at-your-own-pace assignments. You have your deadline, but you also have the freedom to complete assignments at your own pace.
What is your favorite subject in school?
I love all kinds of sciences. Science kind of gives you history, math & science in one. It is exciting!
Have you improved in any areas since you first started attending Options?
I think I have improved on my time management. Assignments are not too overwhelming, and I find it easier to not procrastinate with assignments.
Do you have any current plans or aspirations for when you’re older, or after you graduate?
After I graduate, I plan on going to a four-year college and continuing my education.
Eknoor
Options Westfield Middle School

When did you enroll at Options?
September of this school year
Do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I really enjoy drawing and painting; it is something I’ve been doing for a long time.
What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
Everything is more manageable. Including the class sizes and the school work.
What is your favorite subject in school?
I’m not sure, it’s hard to pick one.
Have you improved in any areas since starting at Options?
I feel like I’m getting better in math & science.
Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
I want to become a doctor
Andrew
Options Westfield High School
Grade: 10th
When did you enroll at Options?
I enrolled at the start of last school year when Options Westfield first opened
Do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I play Dungeons and Dragons, and I also have a 3D printer at home that I use. I also enjoy playing video games. I started getting into Dungeons and Dragons in 2019 and really got into it in spring 2020.
What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
I’ve liked how easy it is to connect with other students and teachers because there’s less people and it’s less crowded.
What is your favorite subject in school?
I enjoy History & Math
Do you have a favorite teacher or staff member?
Of course, I have a favorite advisor, Charles, he is very understanding & easy to talk to.
Have you improved in any areas since starting at Options?
I’ve improved in a couple areas, and math is one of them. Our math teacher Phil is good at simplifying & explaining things to students, and it helps make everything make sense.
Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
I think it would be cool to open my own comic bookstore and go into entrepreneurship. I feel like there’s a gap in the area with the need for a comic bookstore, and it is something I’m passionate about.
