Landry
Simon Youth Academy at Options Noblesville

Grade: 11th

When did you enroll at Options?
In January 2025 when I was looking for a fresh start.

Do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?

I like to write poems, and even have a couple of them published. I also like to do art, listen to music, go driving, play volleyball and boxing. I also work part time as a restaurant hostess.

What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
So definitely the classrooms because they’re a lot smaller, which is nice because the teachers can actually focus on what students need and they go slow when they need to, which makes things a little bit easier to understand. Also the opportunities Options gives, like JEL (J. Everett Light Career Center) or clubs and stuff like that, because it’s just really great to have all these different opportunities at such a young age and to know that you can literally do anything that you want here. I am currently in the CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) program at JEL which will allow me to get a good–paying job right out of high school.

Have you improved in any areas since starting at Options?
Energy, mindset, grades, attitude and making better choices. Options is not just a school; it actually helps you mentally and physically. At other schools, they don’t really have someone that you can go to and talk to when you’re upset, or you can’t leave class when you’re upset, but at Options, if you are upset and you want to get out of class, you can go to Wendy and she’ll just talk to you and talk to you. And that’s what I love so much, is that I have somebody here that I can talk to, and I feel comfortable talking to.

Do you have a favorite teacher or staff member?
Veronica because she always puts a smile on my face and if I’m having a bad day, she can literally wipe the sad look off of my face in a matter of minutes.

What is your favorite subject in school?
Spanish

Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
I would like to become a surgeon, move to Chicago and have two kids.

Do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I’m very big into body building and I like helping those around me make better lifestyle choices that benefit their health. I also enjoy photography.

Why do you think you were selected as Student of the Month?
Probably because I stay on top of my work and I help those around me. I keep my grades up, a B or higher.

What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
I do like the smaller setting. Makes it easier for me to manage getting to classes on time. There are also many opportunities for growth.
