Congrats to our March Students of the Month!

Claire
Simon Youth Academy at Options Noblesville

Grade: 10th

When did you enroll at Options?
October 2021

Do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I enjoy spending time outside, and we have a creek behind our house that I like to spend time at. I also have a carving kit that I like to whittle wood with into different objects.

What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
It just feels a lot safer here, and I like the school size and the people.

What is your favorite subject in school?
History. Especially royalty history because I like fashion, and there is so much to learn about that.

Have you improved in any areas since starting at Options?
I am definitely better at math & I’ve become more social and comfortable talking to people I don’t know well.

Do you have a favorite teacher or staff member?
I like a lot of them, but my top three would probably be Elkini, Maria and Josh.

Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
I love animals, so I definitely want to be a veterinarian. I’m thinking about going to Purdue because they have a good program for that.


Leo
Options Westfield Middle School

Grade: 8th

When did you begin attending Options?
I started in the online program during last school year, but at the start of this year I started attending the Options Westfield campus.

Do you have any hobbies or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I like playing sports.

What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
I like how everything is manageable and not overwhelming.

What is your favorite subject in school?
Math

Have you improved in any areas since starting at Options?
I’m more social and talkative.

Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
I want to go to college, but I’m not sure what I want to study or do for a career.


Maribel
Options Indiana North

Grade: 11th
Hometown: Fort Wayne

When did you begin attending Options?
I enrolled last year around January.

Away from school, do you have any hobbies or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
In my free time when it is warm out, I love being outside in nature and going shopping when I can.

What is your favorite thing about Options Indiana?
Honestly my favorite thing is they have a lot of benefits to give to their students and you can work at your own pace.

What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject is history because I love learning about what happened previously in our country.

Do you have a favorite teacher or staff member in Options Indiana?
My favorite is Stephanie Jenn, she honestly has helped a lot since I started at Options and has been helping me get started on the path to my future career that I love. I am very thankful for her.

Have you improved in any areas since enrolling at Options?
I actually have been able to get ahead in my classes and finish them early which I wouldn’t be able to at my local school in Fort Wayne.

Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
My goal is to go to college and work at the same time. I would like to work as an ultrasound technician because I have been passionate about working in the medical field and it has always interested me.


Emma
Options Westfield High School

Grade: 10th

When did you begin attending Options?
I enrolled in February 2023.

Away from school, do you have any hobbies or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my dog, and drawing.

What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
I really love the friendships I have made, and the opportunities Options has to offer.

What is your favorite subject in school?
I love Diana’s Personal Finance class, it has helped me so much with getting prepared for living on my own, and managing money.

Do you have a favorite Options teacher or staff member?
I really enjoy Shelly, she has been an amazing impact on my life. She has helped me with problems I never thought were solvable, and cares about students like they are her own children.

Have you improved in any areas since you first started attending Options?
I have developed so many new skills, and have become more motivated to finish high school.

Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
Yes, I plan on going right into a medical assisting job as soon as I graduate.


Layla
Options Indiana South

Grade: 11th
Hometown: Fishers, IN

When did you begin attending Options?
Last year, in March

Away from school, do you have any hobbies or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
In my free time, I usually hang out with friends and family.

Do you have a favorite Options teacher or staff member?
I really like my advisor because she’s really nice and understanding.

What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
I like how it doesn’t consume my whole day and that I can work and do school.

What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite course that i’ve taken so far is my human development class.

Have you improved in any areas since you first started attending Options?
I think I have improved in time management and how to really focus on school.

Do you have any current plans or aspirations for when you’re older, or after you graduate?
My plan is to get my GPA up and get into Indiana University to get my Early Childhood Development degree.


Ben
Options with ABA

Grade: 6th

When did you begin attending Options?
This is my first year at Options.

Do you have any hobbies or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
Traveling, going to one of my favorite places (McDonald’s for Vanilla shakes) and visiting the Airport with Mom.

What is your favorite thing about attending Options with ABA?
I enjoy what I am learning about especially when we read James and the Giant Peach (in my Novel Study class).

What is your favorite subject in school?
Math because we have videos and activities to explain it.

Have you improved in any areas since enrolling at Options?
Happy numbers (individualized math center used as a station in class).

Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
I want to be a Southwest Pilot!
