Logan
Options Noblesville

Grade: 10th

Why do you think you were selected as Student of the Month?
I’m honestly not sure. Maybe because I’m friendly and say hello to everyone, and my grades.

When did you begin attending Options?
At the beginning of this school year in August. It has been a pretty good start to the school year also.

Do you have any hobbies, passions or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I like to spend time with my three siblings & I love golfing also. I’ve tried many sports over the years, and I fell in love with golf.

What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
The teachers are just really welcoming and kind, which is new for me.

Do you have a favorite Options teacher or staff member?
I don’t think I could pick just one, because they are all just so kind.

What is your favorite subject in school?
Math, probably because it comes easier to me. I do well with grasping the concepts.

Have you improved in any areas since starting at Options?
I can be a lot more social here. The stress is much less, and it is easier to make friends here than at my other high school. The school was so big that you could make a friend and then not see them again for months or a year because there are so many students.

Do you have any current plans or aspirations for after you graduate?
I’ve been talking to my Business teacher Thomas, he was in the military and is retired now, but I’m interested in that, so I have been asking Thomas about that and his experience.

Gina
Options Westfield High School

Grade: 9

Why do you think you were selected as Student of the Month?
It has been a really good start to the year. I’ve been focusing more on keeping my grades up and I think that is why.

When did you begin attending Options?
Last school year in September

Away from school, do you have any hobbies, passions, or ways you enjoy spending your free time?
I tried Taekwondo, but that wasn’t for me. I’m starting to learn French, which has been good so far, but new. Trying to get familiar with a new language is hard. I took some French classes in middle school, but now I’m working on my own with books and television shows to learn the language in more ways. I love traveling in general – I’m good at history and geography, so I have an idea of all the places I want to visit across the world.

Do you have a favorite Options teacher or staff member?
I like them all a lot, but I would say Blaine has helped me the most. He matches everyone’s energy, and it makes a difference for me and my classmates with the excitement and energy he brings.

What have you enjoyed most about the Options experience?
It has been a great year of being at Options. My confidence has improved a lot in my schoolwork and in being more social.

What is your favorite subject in school?
Social studies & history. I want to go into the political field, and I understand there are a lot of things in those areas that I need to know and learn.

Have you improved in any areas since you first started attending Options?
Definitely in Math. The learning environment and approach to teaching is just different, and I think it has helped me in a lot of ways.

Do you have any current plans or aspirations for when you’re older, or after you graduate?
I want to be a Geopolitical Analyst – international relations major needed. My first step will be a bachelors or associates degree & I’m looking to schools for that now in my College and Careers class.
