Educational Background
- I have a master’s degree in education that I earned from Butler University. I also have an Indiana teacher’s license in English/Language Arts for grades 5-12.
When did you begin working in education?
My teaching journey began in 2001. This was my first ELA teaching assignment at IPS#110, Julian Coleman Middle School, arguably one of the toughest middle schools in Indiana. I taught there for three years, and I learned a lot about myself and about teaching in a challenging environment.
When did you join the Options team?
August 2023
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Options team?
The challenges are the things that excite me about teaching at Options. I look forward to working in a smaller classroom setting compared to the big-school, urban settings that I have grown accustomed to. As a teacher and as a student, I have learned that sometimes you have to come out of your comfort zone. Teaching at Options will provide me with the challenge that I am looking for at this point in my life.
