When did you begin working in the field of education?
I have been teaching since August of 2008. I spent the first six years in a traditional classroom teaching a variety of Social Studies courses but mostly U.S. Government and Economics in Lafayette, IN. I did leave education for a year to work as a certified ABA Therapist at an Autism Center in West Lafayette, IN. Then I returned to education serving as the teacher of the Western Alternative Learning Center (WALC) for the past seven years at Western High School in Russiaville, IN.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Options team?
I appreciate being part of a team that recognizes the field of education is changing and they are providing an alternative path to an education for children who may be better suited for success outside of the traditional classroom.
What do you enjoy outside of Options?
Outside of school I collect and restore pinball machines with most of my free time along with traveling and competing in pinball leagues and tournaments. I also coach wrestling at the high school level. My girlfriend and I have rescued 3 Dachshunds over the past few years and have four dogs total.
