Sean Dowling presented with NAEA Excellence in Alternative Education Award
Sean Dowling was presented with the NAEA Excellence in Alternative Education Award on Tuesday, Oct. 8 in Tuscon, Arizona.
A social studies teacher at Options Schools’ Westfield campus since August 2020, Sean Dowling was presented with the National Alternative Education Association’s (NAEA) first-annual Excellence in Alternative Education Award.
Dowling was presented with the award on Tuesday, October 8 at the 2024 NAEA Conference in Tucson, Arizona.
The committee review team agreed “Sean was a living example of the values of the National Alternative Education Association and what it means to put alternative education students first in a world that tries to tell them they are last.”
“It is incredibly humbling and such an honor to receive this recognition,” said Dowling. “I am truly grateful for the work I get to do, and the amazing team I am a part of! The best part was attending the conference and learning from so many other great educators, so I can continue providing a more enriching education for our students.”
Holding a B.A. in Political Science from Purdue University and a Graduate Certification in Applied Educational Neuroscience from Butler University, Sean is currently working on his Masters in Educational Administration and Supervision from Ball State University. Dowling began his teaching career in 2015.
